Math

I’ve always found math fascinating.  One thing I like to do is to derive values (especially irrationals) from their definitions.  Another is to play with trigonometric functions (you know, sin, cos, tan, etc).  And then there are Mersenne numbers and things like that.  The way I think I’ve succeeded in math is by trying to understand not only how numbers behave but why they behave that way.  I’ll try to give examples in my posts about math, since this is a big deal for me!  I sincerely hope I’m not the only person who finds this interesting.  Math is very important in life, and liking math makes life easier, because, like it or loathe it, you will be doing a lot of math in the real world (though whether you like it will to some extent determine the complexity, as in, “Do you want fries with that?” versus “How can we make this design structurally sound?”).  Math always has been and always will be an integral part of life.  We cannot change that, so we may as well adapt.
